Reflecting Hope: Almost Home - Celebrating 5 Souls for the Kingdom
Lewisham embarked on its Evangelistic Campaign from November 18 to December 2, 2023, led by Pastor Dwayne Jones from the sunny island of Jamaica. The groundwork was laid months in advance, with bible studies, community outreach, leaflet distribution, and inviting neighbours and friends. Banners were displayed, extending an open invitation to all to join us in hearing the word of God.
Nightly, except for Fridays, our church doors swung open, welcoming members and visitors alike to listen to Pastor Dwayne Jones passionately deliver the word of God. Praises echoed, hearts were blessed, and souls surrendered to the Almighty. Pastor Jones skilfully broke down the word for all to understand, spiritually, and physically nourishing us. The impactful two weeks concluded on December 2 with a beautiful baptism.
Five souls chose to symbolize their commitment through the watery grave of baptism: Sisters Angelina Dantizie, and Florence Nwobu, along with Brothers Dimitre Ivannov and Dave Coburn. We express our gratitude to God for working through his servant, Pastor Dwayne Jones. Heaven rejoices when even one soul is saved, and with five, words cannot capture the joy resounding in heaven.
We joyfully welcome our newly baptised members into the Lewisham SDA Church family. As they begin their journey, the work of our church family is just starting. We commit to providing continuous support, love, and encouragement to help them grow in their service to our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
