Privacy and safeguarding for news and event submission
At the South England Conference (SEC), we are committed to upholding the highest standards of privacy and safeguarding. Whether you are submitting an event or sharing news, all materials and personal information provided must align with the following principles to ensure the safety, dignity, and respect of all individuals.
Privacy Principles
We prioritise the protection of personal information in compliance with data protection laws, including GDPR.
Personal Data Use: Any personal details provided (e.g., organiser or contributor name, email, or phone number) will only be used for the purpose of communication regarding your submission or publication of your event or news.
Consent: By submitting news or event details, you confirm that all individuals featured in any images, videos, or promotional materials have given their consent for publication.
Data Security: Personal contact details and other private information will not be shared publicly or with third parties without prior consent.
Safeguarding Principles
We are committed to creating a safe environment for all, particularly for vulnerable individuals such as children and at-risk adults.
Appropriate Content: All submitted materials must respect the dignity, rights, and wellbeing of all individuals. Content must not include inappropriate language, imagery, or themes.
Child Protection: If children are featured in any materials (photos, videos, or descriptions), their identity must be protected unless explicit consent has been obtained from parents or guardians.
Images and Media: Ensure all images, videos, or text submissions are free of inappropriate content and align with the values of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Avoid sharing sensitive or identifying information without permission.
Reporting Concerns: If you notice any safeguarding concerns related to your news, event, or materials, please contact our Safeguarding Team immediately at safe@secadventist.org.uk.
Submission Standards
By submitting your event or news, you confirm that:
All materials have been reviewed to ensure compliance with our privacy and safeguarding principles.
You hold the necessary rights and permissions for all submitted content.
Your submission aligns with the mission and values of the South England Conference.
Submission-Specific Notes
News Submissions:
Ensure your news content is accurate and truthful.
Provide clear details and any supporting images or media (adhering to privacy and safeguarding standards).
Include the contributor’s contact information for follow-ups or clarifications.
Event Submissions:
Provide all required details, including the event title, date, venue, and any promotional materials.
Ensure all media submitted for promotion meets the standards outlined in this document.
