About Thembie Mapingire

Thembie began her professional career as a primary school teacher. After more than 20 years teaching experience both in England and abroad, she decided to train as a counsellor which had always been her passion.

She joined the South England Conference, in 2005, as Counselling Coordinator and a counsellor. Thembie also trained as a clinical supervisor. She enjoys the work she does and would like to see Cornerstone Counselling Service expand to reach more members of the church and community.

After teaching for all those years, Thembie missed working with children and doing what she enjoys best; encouraging and bringing the best out of them. So, she decided to specialise in counselling children and young people which combines her two passions. She believes in equipping, empowering, encouraging and bringing emotional healing to others like God did to her.

Thembie is originally from Zimbabwe. Married to Douglas, she has an adult son Keith who recently got married to Kurai. She enjoys cooking, walking, gardening, spending time with family and friends and having a good laugh.
