About Augustus Lawrence

A native of Liberia, Dr Augustus Cafuema Lawrence has served in pastoral ministry since 1986. He holds a Doctor of Ministry degree in Family Studies from the Seventh-day Adventist Seminary at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan. A graduate of Northern Caribbean University in Jamaica in 1993 with a BA in Theology and, subsequently, an MA in Pastoral Ministry from Newbold College, England, in 1995.  He also has an LLB degree and is currently working towards training in Psychodynamic Therapy.

Dr Lawrence served in the New Life and Holcombe Road district of churches for six years before assuming responsibility for Milton Keynes Central, West Bletchley Community Church and Wolverton district of churches in 2009. In 2014 he was assigned to the Stoke Newington, Stratford and Rainham district of churches until his appointment to his current position.

He entered denominational work as a high school graduate in 1985. A multi-skilled man, his particular interest is in ministries that support family relationships and he, along with his wife Barbara (a professional in her own right) have been active in leading out in various outreach initiatives for the church. Their young adult son, Nathanael is a university student who has developed a keen interest in studying God’s Word and Will for the 21st century Christian.
