About Max McKenzie-Cook

Max Mckenzie-Cook is the newly appointed Community Ministries Director. He is an ordained minister who has served in the Brixton, South London Luganda, Battersea, Wallington, Stevenage and Welwyn Garden City Churches. In addition to this, he is also the Lead Champion for I AM URBAN: an ADRA-UK and Adventist Community Services (ACS) partnership designed to mobilise local churches in community engagement, and the co-lead trainer on ADRA’s Urban component of the Year in Service and Mission course at Newbold College.

During his time in ministry, Max has recognised the awesome opportunity for us to provide a voice for the most marginalised members of our community. This level of engagement presents a compelling narrative about the Gospel.

Max Mckenzie-Cook grew up in North London and has a BA (Hons) in Law and Theology, as well as a MA in Systematic Theology. He is currently a Doctoral student in Urban Ministries at Andrews University.

Max holds two directives very close to his heart: Micah 6:8, “Act justly, love mercy and walk humbly in our God.”

Christ’s method: “Christ’s method alone will give true success in reaching the people. The Saviour mingled with men as one who desired their good. He showed His sympathy for them, ministered to their needs, and won their confidence. Then He bade them, Follow Me.”- Ministry of Healing pg. 143.

Max is married to his beautiful wife Jemima, and they have a young daughter named Thea.
