About Douglas McCormac
Douglas grew up in Belfast and, after leaving school with a handful of ‘O’ levels, began his working career as an apprentice electrician. But just as he was finishing his apprenticeship, he felt the call to full-time Pastoral min- istry and so began his studies at Newbold College of Higher Education in 1989. In 1993 he was awarded his BA Degree in Theology, and two years later received his MA is Systematic Theology and a Diploma in Pastoral Ministry.
In 1997 Douglas began his min- istry in Dublin and Wicklow, Ireland, serving the congregations of Ranelagh and Baltinglass and later adding the Dublin Romanian church. While in the Irish Mission, Douglas served as Pastor, Communications Sponsor, ADRA Ireland Country Director and Secretary of World Wide Advent Missions. It was in Ireland that Doug- las and his wife Annie had their two girls.
In 2008 Douglas accepted a call to serve in the South England Conference and became the Senior Pastor to the Southampton and Win- chester churches. He also served as Area 3 Coordinator.
In September 2015 Douglas was elected to serve as Executive Secretary to the South England Conference and re-elected in 2019 to serve for a further four years.
When Douglas is not spending time with his family, he enjoys walking, photography and working on his allotment. He has served in the Adventist Church for over 24 years, and it is his passion of seeing Jesus Christ expressed in all our lives and in all we do that drives his ministry.
