About Candy Layson

Candy Layson is the newly elected and first female Treasurer of the SEC.

She holds BSc in Industrial Engineering from Ateneo de Davao University, Philippines, and began her career working in export manufacturing before moving to the banking sector where she completed an MBA from the University of San Carlos.

Born in the Philippines, Candy immigrated to the UK in 2002 and worked for 15 years in the Finance department of an NHS hospital. While serving there, she qualified as an accountant with her ACCA.

Candy has been an active member of the Filipino International Church (FIC). She participates in different ministries through her involvement in small groups, serving as Sabbath School superintendent, Music Ministries leader, choir member and head of the local church Treasury department for over 15 years.

In 2017 she joined the SEC as Associate Treasurer. She understands the challenges of the local church treasurers and hopes to contribute greatly to the enhancement of service and communication between SEC and local churches. She humbly, somewhat reluctantly, accepts this position as Treasurer and trusts that God will equip her to fulfil her role.

She is married to Hefer who is a nurse, and they have two children: Rhae, aged 18, who is about to start her first year at University College London; and Kari, aged 12, who attends Stanborough Secondary School.
