SEC Youth Ministries

About the Youth Ministries Department
The Youth Ministries Department exists to support young people (18+) in their spiritual growth, wellbeing, and discipleship - helping them develop a meaningful and deeply formed relationship with God.
We recognise that young people today are navigating faith, identity, pressure, and purpose in complex environments. Our heart is to build authentic community spaces where young people feel seen, valued, and supported holistically as they grow spiritually, emotionally, and socially.
Across the SEC region, we focus on reaching young people where they are while strengthening the youth spaces around them - cultivating healthy communities where they can belong, ask honest questions, be mentored, and encounter God in ways that connect with real life.
Our Steps Towards Change:
Re-establishing Area Youth Leadership to strengthen local vision
Building regional networks and staple youth gatherings
Expanding what youth ministry and evangelism looks like
Supporting and funding grassroots, youth-led initiatives
Creating advocacy and learning spaces around issues that matter
Increasing opportunities for worship leaders, lay preachers, and creatives to serve
Our Vision
To see young people:
Changed - deeply formed and grounded in Christ.
Charged - clear in purpose and empowered for mission.
We are cultivating collaborative, inclusive spaces where youth can encounter God authentically, develop their gifts, and live on purpose with purpose.

How We Support Our Youth
We support young people across the Conference through a local-first structure, working in partnership with area leaders, youth leaders, networks, and local ministries.
Core Team
Provides overall direction, coordination, and resourcing across the SEC. The Core Team supports leadership development and oversees Conference-led youth gatherings that require wider coordination.
Area Coordinators
Act as key local points of contact between the Conference and local youth leaders.
Networks & Ministries
We work alongside networks and focused ministries (including student ministries, careers and enterprise, health initiatives, sports and social spaces, and discipleship communities) that provide regular, meaningful connection for young people.
Local Churches & Areas
Local churches and areas lead the day-to-day work of youth ministry. The Conference supports this work by resourcing, connecting, and encouraging those serving young people.
