South England Conference Communication and Media Department is organising a training day for all the media and communication coordinators from the local churches and for anyone else who might be interested in developing certain skills to better communicate in this technological world, especially within the new hybrid reality that the pandemic already ushered in our personal and social lives.
We need to be aware of the current challenges, limitations and opportunities of the digital world, a reality that is expanding even faster that it was anticipated, and we also need to understand how to transmit, basically, the same words, pictures, and sounds, yet in a different medium of communication now than the traditional one that we used to be familiar with.
The main goal of this media and communication training day is to equip the prospective participants with suitable tools and techniques that eventually could be employed in their own context, to provide the best service for the local church and for the wider community.
We are pleased to present you with the following workshops:
1. You Are an Influencer - Social Media for Mission (Sorin Petrof, PhD, SEC Communication and Media Director)
2. How to Run a Hybrid Church Service (Duane Davidson, SEC IT Technical Support Lead)
3. Starting a Media Ministry in Your Church (Karl Johnson, SEC Media Video Technician & Andraé Johnson, SEC Media Audio Technician)
4. Live Streaming Sabbath Services - Guidance and Regulations(Chris Williams, Director/Consultant Sacris Ltd)
5. Church Photography in 2022 (Daryl Gungadoo, Director of AR Media Labs at Adventist Review)
6. Engaging with Local News Agencies (Don Roberts, SEC Communication and Media Assistant)
7. Transmitting Hope - Adventist Radio London (Paul Lee, ARL Director)
8. The Church and Crisis Communication (Sam Davies, BUC Communication and Media Director)

Here are a few things to keep in mind to ensure that you have the best possible experience:
- Please make sure to arrive in time for the opening session.
- Park only in the main car park situated behind the building.
- Lunch (vegetarian) is provided for those who are registered.
- Please highlight any dietary requirements when register.
