North Wembley Hosts SEC Prison Ministries Promotion Day

Report on SEC Prison Ministries Promotion Day

Date: 6 June 2026
Location: North Wembley Community
Theme: God Who Restores

  • Morning: Hebrews 13:3 – “Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body.”

  • Afternoon: Micah 7:18–19 – “Who is a God like You, pardoning iniquity and passing over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not retain His anger forever, because He delights in mercy. He will again have compassion on us, and will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.”

A promotion day for the SEC Prison Ministries was held at the North Wembley community on 6 June 2026, under the theme “God Who Restores.” The programme was divided into a morning session and an afternoon session, both of which were very successful.

The morning session opened with Hebrews 13:3, which calls believers to identify with those in prison as though bound with them. This Scripture set the tone for the day, reminding everyone that prison ministry is not merely a charitable act but a spiritual identification with the suffering. Members listened attentively and responded with keen interest.

The afternoon session was anchored in Micah 7:18–19, highlighting God’s character as the One who pardons iniquity, delights in mercy, and casts our sins into the depths of the sea. This passage reinforced the theme “God Who Restores” and connected powerfully to the message of hope and restoration for those in prison. Participants engaged in open discussions, asking thoughtful questions about the practical aspects of prison ministry, including training, safety protocols, and ongoing support for volunteers. Many members contributed ideas and expressed a desire to see the ministry grow.

A highlight of the day was the community's response. Approximately 17 individuals signed up to promote the ministry. All of them agreed to receive training and to actively engage in prison ministry going forward. This marks a significant step in building a committed team for this vital work.

The promotion day at North Wembley was a clear success, thanks to the local Pastor Dwayne, the Leadership and the enthusiastic participation of the members and the evident moving of God’s Spirit. We give thanks for the 17 new volunteers and pray that the Lord, who restores, pardons, and casts our sins into the sea, will continue to help us reach higher ground in this ministry of remembrance and restoration.
