When he left a football career in Seirra Leone and headed for England nearly 40 years ago to pursue a new career in ministry little did Pastor Ebenezer Jones-Lartey realise how time flies in the blink of the eye.

A Pastoral ministry that has spanned over 30 years came to a graceful end on October 29, 2022 at the London Ghana SDA Church where he has been the senior minister since 2019.

During his time in full-time ministry Jones-Lartey served the South England Conference in a variety of roles from local pastor to London Area chair, a member of the SEC Executive Committee, and SEC Ministerial Secretary. The churches he pastored have included Plumstead, New Addington, Peckham and Brixton.

Preaching his last sermon at the London Ghana Church, Jones-Lartey reminded the congregation of God’s love for humanity and His desire to save us. He emphasised that it will be more difficult to be lost because God has made every provision to ensure no one is lost but saved. Even if there was only one sinner Christ would have still come to die for such a person. He therefore admonished everyone to take advantage of this great provision.

Messages affirming the positive ministry of Pr. Jones-Lartey and his family were shared by Dr. Emmanuel Osei (SEC president), Pr. Sam Ouajdo (BUC Ministerial Secretary), Pr. Joojo Bonnie (Area 6C coordinator) and Pr. Fergus Owusu-Boateng (SEC Sabbath School and AMR Director).

During his 3 year stay at London Ghana, Jones-Lartey oversaw the organisation of a new church, Prince Emmanuel at Edgware and a branch Sabbath school at Southend.

Members from the 3 churches also showed their appreciation with gifts and thanked him for his visionary leadership.

In concluding the retirement service, the elders of the church prayed for the Jones-Lartey family to have fruitful retirement.

Well done Pastor! We wish the Jones-Lartey family a very relaxing retirement but reminding him his services can be called upon at anytime by the master.
