The second year of the South England Conference (SEC) Health and Wellbeing Fest Extravaganza took place on Sunday, 28 May, in the picturesque setting of Stanborough Park, Watford, against the backdrop of the British Union Conference (BUC) headquarters. The festival, which aimed to provide a fun outdoor event for the local and neighbouring communities to promote physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health, attracted an impressive turnout of 1,500 attendees throughout the day.
Under the warm sun and temperatures reaching a pleasant 22 degrees, visitors were greeted by a vibrant atmosphere filled with activities and opportunities to enhance their health. The festival boasted an array of stalls offering various health-related services and advice. Visitors had the chance to receive free health checks and seek guidance on personal health matters. Other booths included clothes made from sustainable materials and organic beauty products. Adding to the lively ambience, a DJ on the main stage provided uplifting music throughout the event.
Meanwhile, the Children's Zone was a major hit among the younger visitors. They enjoyed interacting with a mobile animal exhibit featuring goats, sheep, ducks, and even a pony, offering a memorable and educational experience. Face painting and bouncy castles were also extremely popular and delighted the children.
In addition, representatives from the Hertfordshire Police Constabulary and the Hertfordshire Fire Services also joined the festivities. Children had the unique opportunity to interact with police officers, sit in a police car, and explore a real fire engine, creating a sense of wonder and delight.
Prominent participants at the festival included SEC's Prayer Ministries, Personal Ministries, Health Ministries, Cornerstone Counselling Service, and the charity 'One Vision'. Representatives from BUC Health and Personal Ministries also had stalls showcasing their commitment to holistic wellbeing.
The festival also appealed to the culinary tastes of the attendees by providing a wide range of food and drinks. Both vegan and non-vegan food stands were available. Cold drinks and an ice cream van also offered a welcome respite from the sunny weather, adding to the festival atmosphere.
Notable guests graced the event, including BUC President Pastor Eglan Brooks and the CEO of Hertfordshire Trust and NHS Trust. Also, SEC President Pastor Emmanuel Osei addressed the audience from the main stage, where he highlighted the significance of the festival and the importance of “coming together as a community to celebrate life.” This powerful message encapsulated the essence of the SEC Health & Wellbeing Fest Extravaganza, inspiring unity and sharing joy among all who attended.
