CEPE Day of Fellowship Unites Portuguese-speaking Churches Across the UK and Ireland
On 6 June 2026, the 3rd Annual Day of Fellowship of CEPE (European Portuguese-Speaking Council) brought together more than 1,100 members and friends from over 15 Portuguese-speaking Seventh-day Adventist churches across the UK and Ireland. It was a special day of worship, prayer, fellowship, and spiritual renewal as members gathered to celebrate God’s blessings and strengthen their faith.

One of the most joyful moments of the day was the celebration of 11 baptisms, as individuals publicly committed their lives to Jesus. Adding to the significance of the occasion, Pathfinder Clubs from Portuguese-speaking churches across the North England Conference (NEC) and South England Conference (SEC) came together to support and celebrate their friends who were being baptised, making the ceremony especially meaningful for the young people in attendance.

The event was honoured by the presence of Pastor Kirk Thomas, President of the South England Conference; Pastor Kwadwo Kwarteng-Ampofo, SEC Personal Ministries Director; and Pastor Stanley Teixeira, SEC Adventurer and Pathfinder Ministries Director. They were joined by Portuguese-speaking pastors from across the UK and Ireland, representing their local churches and demonstrating the unity and strength of the Portuguese-speaking Adventist community.
The main speaker, Pastor Arilton de Oliveira from Brazil, inspired the congregation through messages based on Revelation chapters 10 and 14, calling members to renew their commitment to God’s mission and to proclaim the everlasting gospel with faith and urgency. With more than 40 years of ministry experience, Pastor Arilton serves in the Evangelistic Ministry of the South Santa Catarina Conference and is the author of the Bible study series Bíblia Fácil and several evangelistic books.
The spirit of mission continued on Sunday, 7 June, with a sidewalk evangelism outreach around Trafalgar Square, London. Portuguese-speaking pastors and church members distributed literature, prayed with members of the public, and shared words of hope and encouragement. Pastor Arilton also joined the outreach, connecting with people on the streets and supporting the church’s mission to share God’s love in practical ways.
The weekend was a beautiful reminder that, although Portuguese-speaking churches are spread throughout the UK and Ireland, they remain united in faith, fellowship, and their commitment to sharing the gospel with others.
