Evangelism Day at Enfield Church

On Sabbath, 27 June 2026, as London was experiencing a heatwave, Enfield Church was on spiritual fire for the Lord. It was Evangelism Day, organised by the Personal Ministries Leaders Sis Yolanda & Elder Dias Bequessa. In preparing the church for the mission ahead, Elder Barry Morris from the Tottenham Lighthouse Church preached an inspiring, spirit-filled message, ‘The Priceless Pearl,’ based on Matthew 13:45-46.

After the Divine Service, the congregation was ready to go out into the community to share the love of Christ through books, prayers and their presence. Knowing that ‘…the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not…’ (2 Cor. 4:4), a special prayer was said by Elder Judith Handel before we left the church building. Bolstered by the prayer, and the sermon that was preached, we confidently stepped out into the community. Some wore the specially designed T-shirt for the occasion which had written on the front, ‘Taking JESUS to Every Corner,’ and on the back, ‘It’s Not About Us It’s About HIM.’

There were seven outreach points manned by teams of two - at bus stops and at the back of Tesco Store. The main outreach point was at the entrance of the church. There was a welcoming table with a speaker playing gospel music and a large display of books and literature. This outreach point was staffed by two young people and two adults.

As the weather was extremely hot, the outreach time was reduced. Despite the shorter time, the Lord still guided the mission and people responded. People were prayed for and the Word of God shared with those who had questions. The books were accepted, even by some Muslims who were curious. By God’s grace, the following resources were distributed: (i) Adults & Children’s Bibles, (ii) Four boxes of The Great Controversy, (iii) Three boxes of Steps to Christ, (iv) One box of various small books, including health and youth literature.

We returned to the church rejoicing and sharing our testimonies and stories.  Prayers of praise and thanksgiving were said by Elders Morris & Donovan. The mission under God’s guidance was a resounding success. As a result of the many blessings experienced during this Evangelism Day, Enfield Church has now committed to organising another outreach event in the near future to continue the work that was started.  The Church has heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” Isaiah 6:8

Thanks to all those who participated, including those who could not go out but stayed behind to pray for the success of the mission. Special thanks to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, for sustaining and guiding us from the beginning to the end of the programme. It was indeed a joy and a blessing doing service for Him.
