Four Souls Baptised as Evangelistic Campaign Bears Fruit at London Ghana SDA Church

There was rejoicing in heaven and on earth at London Ghana Seventh-day Adventist Church on Sabbath, 27 June 2026, as four precious souls publicly declared their faith in Jesus Christ through baptism. The service marked the joyful conclusion of a two-week evangelistic campaign that touched lives both online and in person, culminating in a celebration of God's saving grace.

Despite soaring temperatures across the United Kingdom, which made the Sabbath one of the hottest days of the campaign, members and visitors filled the church with hearts focused on worship rather than the weather. Friends, relatives, and well-wishers gathered to witness the special occasion and celebrate the decisions made for Christ.

The evangelistic series, themed "NOW IS THE TIME – To Give Yourself to Jesus," was presented by Pastor Col. Peter Nyarko Duodu, a former chaplain of the Ghana Armed Forces and now President of the newly established South East Ghana Union Mission.

Drawing from 2 Corinthians 6:2 in his penultimate sermon, Pastor Duodu reminded the congregation that God's invitation to salvation demands an immediate response. Referring to the signs of Christ's soon return as heaven's "final boarding call," he urged listeners not to delay surrendering their lives to Jesus.

Addressing a common barrier to faith, Pastor Duodu observed that many people hesitate because they feel unworthy of God's love. He emphasised that salvation is never earned through human effort but is found only in Jesus Christ.

"Many people are not lost because they openly reject Jesus Christ; they are lost because they continually postpone surrender. One of the devil's favourite words is 'later'. But God says, 'Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your heart.'"

His appeal resonated with many in attendance, serving as a powerful reminder that God's offer of grace is for today, not tomorrow.

A Public Commitment to Christ

Before entering the baptismal pool, each candidate publicly affirmed their acceptance of the fundamental beliefs and doctrines of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Those baptised were brothers Chinonyerem and Chinemere Ochulo, together with Stacy Afram and Alice Fosu Agyei.
