Grays SDA Church Celebrates Men's Day with a Call to Stand Firm in Faith
Men's Day at Gray's SDA Church - Sabbath, 3 October 2026
Grays Seventh-day Adventist Church was blessed with a powerful and spiritually enriching Men's Day centred around the theme, "The Whole Armour of God"(Ephesians 6:14-17).
The day began with an engaging Sabbath School lesson, "The Call of a Prophet."Through an interactive discussion, participants explored the unique role of prophets as God's spokespersons. The study highlighted that answering God's call is not always easy. Prophets were often required to deliver difficult truths, making them unpopular and, at times, targets of criticism and opposition.
Throughout the divine service, presentations were given on each element of the Armour of God: the Belt of Truth, Breastplate of Righteousness, Gospel of Peace, Shield of Faith, Helmet of Salvation, and the Sword of the Spirit. Each speaker emphasised the importance of putting on the whole armour daily to stand firm in faith.
The main message drew from the life of Samson (Judges 13-16), focusing on the sobering reality that "he did not know that the Spirit had departed from him." The sermon illustrated the dangers of neglecting spiritual protection and the consequences of living without the full armour of God.
The evening concluded with an interactive discussion based on Proverbs 27:17, "As iron sharpens iron." Men shared practical ways to encourage and strengthen one another in Christ, leading to honest and meaningful conversation.
No report of the day would be complete without acknowledging the excellent fellowship meal. The food was enjoyed by all and was a fitting conclusion to a day filled with worship, learning, encouragement, and spiritual growth. As many enthusiastically agreed, the sisters truly outdid themselves in the kitchen!
Overall, Men's Day 2026 was a blessing to all who attended, leaving participants encouraged to put on the whole armour of God and stand faithfully for Christ in every aspect of life.
