The Journey Continues — 2026/27

On Saturday, 26 September 2026, Reading Angaza Pathfinder & Adventurer Club celebrated its 8th Investiture & Induction Ceremony, bringing together Pathfinders, Adventurers, TLTs, families, church members and friends for a day of celebration, worship, fellowship and recognition.

The Club's first Investiture & Induction Ceremony took place in 2019. Since then, the programme has continued to provide young people with opportunities to grow in faith, develop practical skills, serve others and discover their potential as Christian leaders.

A DAY FILLED WITH RHYTHM AND COLOUR

From the opening ceremony in the morning to the conclusion of the day's programme, the Reading-West Drum Corps kept the energy high. Their disciplined performance brought rhythm and excitement to the occasion and provided a memorable musical backdrop throughout the day's proceedings.

The Colour Party added a special sense of pageantry to the ceremony with a carefully organised flag parade, including the presentation of the flags at the beginning and their formal removal at the close.

Following the closing ceremony, the Drum Corps continued the celebration outside Hexham Community Centre, where their outdoor drumming display attracted the attention of members of the public. People could be seen peeping through their windows and balconies to catch a glimpse of the performance. The display ended with enthusiastic applause from the watching public.

REAR VIEW — A JOURNEY OF MEMORIES

One of the highlights of the day was a 10-minute "Rear View" video, taking the audience on a visual journey through some of the Club's activities and adventures.

The presentation featured highlights from the Curriculum Camp at Newbold College, SEC Adventurer Camporee in Bristol, Pathfinder Fair in Watford, World Pathfinder Day in Watford and the Hawassa Mission 2026 in Ethiopia.

The memories brought smiles, laughter and appreciation across the congregation as everyone reflected on the experiences shared throughout the year.

COORDINATING THE DAY

Devotha Magazi, Director of Reading Angaza Pathfinder & Adventurer Club, brought together the various segments of the programme, ensuring that the day's activities flowed smoothly from one presentation to another.

Representing the South England Conference, Area 5, Sister Vimbai and Dr Darlington Onditi oversaw the Investiture and Induction proceedings.

DAILY LIVING EVANGELISM

The day's message was delivered by Dr Darlington Onditi under the theme:

"DAILY LIVING EVANGELISM."

Dr Onditi emphasised that effective evangelism is not confined to a church service or a special evangelistic campaign. Rather, people should experience the gospel through our everyday lives — at home, at school, at play, at work and throughout every day of the week: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and beyond.

The message provided a fitting reminder that the Pathfinder and Adventurer ministry is not simply about activities and awards, but about preparing young people to live and share their faith wherever they go.

CELEBRATING ACHIEVEMENT

The Investiture Ceremony recognised the achievements of 20 young people across the Adventurer, Pathfinder and Teen Leadership Training programmes.

Teen Leadership Training (TLT)

• 1 First Year

• 4 Third Year

• 2 Fourth Year

Certificates, pins and honours were presented in recognition of their completed requirements and achievements.

The Investiture was followed by the Induction Ceremony, welcoming two new members into the Club — one Adventurer and one Pathfinder.

FELLOWSHIP AROUND THE TABLE

Following the ceremonies, everyone gathered for lunch and fellowship.

At Reading Angaza, the fellowship meal has long been more than simply sharing food. It provides an opportunity for people to talk, laugh, connect and build relationships. Around the table, friendships develop, conversations flow and love flourishes.

For many within African communities, such fellowship remains a powerful and natural way of building relationships — making the table itself an important tool for evangelism.

THE JOURNEY CONTINUES

As Reading Angaza Pathfinder & Adventurer Club begins another year of adventure, learning and service, the Club extends a warm invitation to everyone to join the journey for 2026/27.
