Taunton and Chard OneVoice27 Launch Celebrated with Baptismal Service

On Sabbath, 5 September 2026, Taunton Church and the Chard church plant in Somerset were blessed by the addition of seven new members through baptism and one member by profession of faith. The baptism service marked the end of a week-long evangelistic campaign by Ray Patrick, of Adventist Radio London, who blessed the church with powerful messages of revival and hope under the theme “Fight for Your Life!” It was a Spirit-filled week with inspiring messages, and everyone was blessed by the Word of God.

Our guest speaker, Patrick, shared encouraging and heartfelt messages throughout the week, drawing from several Bible narratives in 2 Kings chapter 7, Daniel 5, Acts 1 and 3, and Revelation 6. He reminded the church that the only thing that matters is Jesus and our relationship with Him. Patrick used his Sabbath message to lift up Jesus Christ and show that the fulfilment of prophecy is a clear indication that Jesus is certainly coming again. He urged the church to be ready to meet Jesus when He returns.

Taunton and Chard joined in the launch of the OneVoice27 global initiative by the General Conference, and following the morning programme, the baptism service was conducted in the afternoon after the lunch break, with the minister, Hope Njoku, leading the service. It was a great moment of joy for the church to see the eight beautiful souls added to the church, with many others declaring their decision to give their lives to Jesus. We were grateful to see how blessed everyone was by the experience.

Overall, it was a wonderful and blessed Sabbath, filled with worship and fellowship. We thank God for allowing the church to be part of the Great Commission of making disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:18–20).
