Watford Town SDA Celebrates Four Baptisms and a New Chapter of Faith
Watford Town Seventh-day Adventist Church celebrated a joyful baptismal service on Saturday, 12 September 2026, as four candidates publicly declared their decision to follow Jesus Christ.
Nathan Ameru, Jayden Andrew, Ivy Wambui and Cerys Perry were baptised by Pastor Adil Habib before a congregation of relatives, friends, church members and special guests.
Each candidate affirmed the baptismal vows, before entering the baptismal pool, presented by first Elder Richard Henry and local Pastor Hannah and had a personal Bible verse read out by family members and friends. Their testimonies reflected the individual journeys that had brought them to this important moment of faith.
Those who had supported the candidates through Bible study spoke warmly about their dedication and spiritual growth. Church members also reflected on the influence of Junior Sabbath School, prayer, and intentional mentoring in the lives of the young people. The occasion demonstrated the lasting difference that committed teachers, families, and church members can make when they invest in the spiritual development of children and young adults.
Following the baptisms, the candidates received a word of encouragement reminding them that the Christian journey will not always be easy. However, through the presence and guidance of the Holy Spirit, they can experience lasting peace, strength, and direction. The congregation was also encouraged to continue supporting the newly baptised members through prayer, friendship and Christian fellowship.
Sister Anastasia Ross offered a special prayer of blessing over the candidates. Gifts and flowers were presented to mark the occasion, and Jayden, Ivy and Cerys were formally welcomed into the membership of Watford Town Seventh-day Adventist Church. Nathan will be welcomed into fellowship at Hemel Hempstead Church at a future date.
The congregation also voted to receive Linda Lusingu into church fellowship, making the service an even greater celebration of growth within the family of God.
Special guests, Elder Paul Lee, Sister Anastasia Ross, and Pastor Bernie Holford, were acknowledged during the program.
