Wycombe Community Church Honours Local Police Force in Special Appreciation Ceremony
On Saturday, 10 October 2026, Wycombe Community Seventh-day Adventist Church hosted a special Police Appreciation and Award Ceremony at its premises on Victoria Street, High Wycombe, recognising the dedication, commitment and invaluable contribution of local Thames Valley Police officers to the community.
The occasion was a meaningful expression of gratitude towards those who work tirelessly to protect, serve and support the people of High Wycombe, often facing challenging circumstances while carrying out their duties.
The ceremony brought together representatives of Thames Valley Police, civic dignitaries, church leaders, members of the congregation and the wider community in a spirit of appreciation, unity and mutual respect.
The programme included an address from the Mayor and remarks from Pastor Kwesi Moore (SEC President), acknowledging the importance of community partnerships and the contribution of those serving on the front line.
Elder Kenroy Mitchell delivered a presentation entitled Serving Our Community, highlighting the importance of recognising individuals whose daily commitment helps make our communities safer, stronger and more connected.
Catherine Boldeau, Director of Communications for the British Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, delivered words of appreciation, reinforcing the value of recognising those who make a positive difference in society.
A significant moment in the programme was the presentation of an appreciation award by Desmond Vincent, recognising the outstanding service and commitment of the local police force. PC Callum Macmillan accepted the award.
More Than an Awards Ceremony
For Wycombe Community Church, the occasion represented much more than the presentation of an award. It was an opportunity to strengthen relationships between the church, the police and the wider community, while demonstrating that appreciation, encouragement and practical support are essential elements of community life.
The event reflected the church’s ongoing commitment to community engagement, building bridges with local organisations and recognising the contributions of those who serve others.
The success of the occasion was a reminder that meaningful community relationships are built through respect, understanding, cooperation and a shared desire to make a positive difference.
Wycombe Community Church extends its sincere appreciation to Thames Valley Police, the Mayor, all participating dignitaries, speakers, musicians, volunteers and everyone who contributed to making the occasion memorable.
As a church, we remain committed to serving our community, strengthening partnerships and demonstrating God’s love through meaningful action.
