Obscenity Hicklin Test - UK Government Consultation Proposal to Ban Social Media for Children

The SEC Public Affairs & Religious Liberty department will host an online presentation examining the Obscenity Hicklin Test and its relevance in both historical and modern legal contexts. This session will also explore the current government consultation proposal to ban social media for children, offering perspective from a legal, ethical, and religious liberty standpoint.
The presentation will be led by Brighton Kavaloh, SEC Public Affairs & Religious Liberty Co-ordinator, and forms part of an ongoing series addressing law, faith, and public policy.
The session will take place on Sunday, 22 March 2026, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, via Zoom.
