Hanwell SDA Church Shares 140 Hampers to Bless Local Community
Hanwell Church, as a Centre of Hope, Health and Healing, continues to impact its community. Its outreach influence also appeared in the Ealing Champions Community Newsletter below.
This outreach complemented Pastor Michael Mbui’s sermon, in which he encouraged the church to model and pattern after Jesus, to “maximise all mission opportunities.” It was Mother’s Day, and Pastor Michael’s sermon highlighted the value of mothers in the community.
Women’s Ministries and Health Ministries leaders grouped together and encouraged members to share 140 hamper gifts with church neighbours. The gifts were accompanied by Health Matters and U Turn magazines, along with cards designed by BUC Director of Women’s Ministries, Sister Sharon. These cards depicted the value of a woman as “a precious gem and diamond which are rare.”
Some of the recipients exclaimed, “It is my wife’s birth date, how did you know… I can’t believe it.” Others requested prayer, while some cried for joy and expressed gratitude to the church for being thoughtful.
Inspiration says, “You are to sow the seeds of truth in every place where you can gain access… Work in His line, go forth everywhere as He did when He was in His ministry on earth” (7T, 35:3).
