Statement on news of the death of Queen Elizabeth II

The South England Conference of Seventh-day Adventists joins with the rest of the nation in mourning the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. We are grateful to God for her leadership over the past 70 years as the Queen of United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The SDA Church has enjoyed the freedom to worship God and thrive under her reign.

Our hearts goes out to her family as they come to terms with the loss of a mother, grandmother and a great grandmother. May she rest in peace. We pray that the Lord will comfort the family at this time of bereavement. We also pray for our new monarch, His Majesty King Charles III, as he ascends the throne and assumes leadership of this nation.
