Behold the Man
Young Adults and Youth Revival
There was a celebration up in Heaven as a group of individuals, touched by the Holy Spirit, flocked forward to the front of Hackney Church, indicating their desire to have bible studies followed by baptism during the conclusion of a youth revival. Under the leadership of Pastor Joojo Bonnie, the Hackney and Wood Green SDA Church held a joint Youth Revival during the week of 13th-20th August with Guest Speaker, Elder Fitzroy Glen Anthony Morris. Running alongside the Youth Revival were words of encouragement and testimonies geared towards the youth on Hackney and Wood Green’s Prayer Line, with a host of intergenerational speakers among them Hackney and Wood Green’s youth, prayer intercessors and Pastoral team. Guest speakers on the prayer line also included Elder Annell Smith (Holloway), Divinia Reynolds (Creative Writing for Evangelism Tutor at the SEC School of Evangelism), Elder Rohail John (London Asian SDA), Pastor Kwame Sarpong (London Ghana SDA) and Elder Alex Dhlakama (Plaistow and Area 6C Prayer Ministries Coordinator).
With no shortage of musical talent among Hackney and Wood Green’s youth, the church were treated to special items by Lavell Cuffy, Tanesha James (Wood Green) and Michaela Mathieu-Marius ((Hackney and SEC Camp Meeting 2022 Singing Evangelist). Night after night, Elder Morris’ power packed messages, which were also live streamed on Zoom and Facebook, attracted an international audience of well over 100. Those in attendance were encouraged to “behold the man – Jesus – in His divinity, humanity” and as one who is able to calm storms while also bringing revival and reformation. The personal, heartfelt testimonies the speaker shared of his praying mother, who watched on from Jamaica, along with the miraculous healing of his son made a deep impression on all those who listened.
In his concluding message – I am Coming – Elder Morris – told the full capacity audience of the soon return of Jesus to this earth for His faithful children who have long waited for Him and of the joyous occasion it promises to be. “Behold the man, Christ Jesus – bursting through the clouds, coming to this earth in all His splendour and glory, for you and I, for those whom He has created and redeemed through His precious blood,” said Morris. He continued: “There will be no more covid, no more increasing bills to pay, no more arthritis, high blood pressure or cancer and no more struggles with addiction or sin – for Christ will put an end to it all and by beholding Him we all will be changed.”
The Hackney and Wood Green Pastoral team personally thanked God for the powerful way in which His Holy Spirit had led Elder Morris during the revival and committed this humble man of God along with his family in prayer as he pursues his calling to ministry subject to completion of his current pastoral studies at Newbold College.
