Welling SDA Launches Centre of Influence with Gym and Community Focus
On 24 May 2025, Welling Church Hall was officially dedicated as a Centre of Influence, marking a new chapter in outreach and community service. Led by the SEC Personal Ministries Department, with support from church members and SEC leaders—including Dr Kirk Thomas and Pastor Nathan Stickland—the event featured heartfelt worship, inspiring messages, and the unveiling of a community gym. With prayers for restoration and impact, the Centre stands as a place for physical, mental, and spiritual renewal.

Egypt-Themed VBS Brings Joseph’s Story to Life at Plumstead SDA Church
Plumstead Community SDA Church celebrated its first Vacation Bible School with over 16 children graduating on 31 May 2025. Held under the theme “Egypt: Joseph’s Journey from Prison to Palace,” the 4-day programme brought Bible stories to life through creative activities, costumes, and group learning.

From engaging Sabbath School discussions to a bold message by Pastor Costa Vegas titled “Pack Your Coffin”, the day focused on total commitment to sharing the gospel. Highlights included musical items, health insights on youth mental wellbeing, and a powerful open forum with Youth Leader Rebecca Marshall, encouraging full dependence on Jesus.

Church hires coach and takes neighbours to the seaside
Tottenham Lighthouse SDA Church took 30 women from its food bank community on a joyful day trip to Southend-on-Sea on 1 June 2025. Many experienced the seaside for the first time, enjoying shared meals and fellowship. The outing reflected the church’s ongoing mission to build trust, friendship, and faith through compassionate outreach.

Celebrating 125 Years: A Legacy of Worship at Bury St Edmunds SDA Church
On the weekend of 31 May to 1 June 2025, Bury St. Edmunds Seventh-day Adventist Church celebrated its 125th anniversary with a joyful programme themed “Honouring the Past, Celebrating the Present, Building the Future.” Worship, music, and historical reflections filled the Sabbath, culminating in a message that inspired renewed commitment to mission. Local dignitaries, including the Mayor of Thetford, joined the celebration and commended the church for its positive role in community cohesion and support. The weekend concluded with a Family Fun Day, reaffirming the church’s ongoing service to its neighbours.

Welling Children’s Ministries Make “Emergency Stops” to Thank Local Fire and Ambulance Heroes
On Sabbath 10th May 2025, 26 children from Welling’s Children’s Ministries team visited Bexleyheath Fire Station and Barnehurst Ambulance Station to thank frontline workers. With songs, prayers, speeches, and gift hampers, they brought smiles and encouragement. Fun activities like using hoses and exploring emergency vehicles added excitement. The visits sparked future collaboration, with paramedics offering lifesaving training for church youth.
