Heaven Rejoices: Four Baptised at St Austell After Hope for Today Campaign
The joy experienced in heaven is beyond measure whenever someone turns back to God. Jesus reminds us that heaven celebrates and rejoices for one person who repents and comes to God through Christ (Luke 15:7).
Some days in the life of a church remain unforgettable, and 15th November 2025 was one of those moments at St Austell Church in Cornwall. It was more than a Sabbath gathering—it felt like a celebration of grace, mission, and answered prayers.
The journey to that day began weeks before, during preparations for the Impact SEC 2025 evangelistic campaign. With intentionality and compassion, the church stepped into the community. On 22nd and 23rd October, a free Health Expo was hosted in the church. Many attended out of curiosity but left encouraged, grateful, and touched. Several visitors questioned how a church could give without expecting anything in return. The requests for the programme to continue showed how much the community longed for genuine care and connection.
Following the Expo, four consecutive weekends of evangelistic meetings took place under the theme Hope for Today. Christ was lifted, the gospel was presented with clarity, and the Spirit softened hearts. Families and friends attended as the church prayed, served, and connected. By the end of the campaign, three people made the decision to give their lives to Christ—a decision that reaches far beyond this world.
Then came Sabbath, 15th November—a day when heaven truly rejoiced. The atmosphere in St Austell Church was filled with anticipation as the candidates stepped forward for baptism. Each life represented a testimony of grace. The message, titled The River of Life, reminded all present that baptism is not simply a ceremony; it is a public declaration or expression of faith in Christ and a new beginning in Him.
Then something happened that no one planned—but heaven clearly arranged. A young man, deeply stirred during the service, stood up and announced his desire to give his life to Christ. He became the fourth baptismal candidate. The church responded with joy.
The celebration continued as one of the newly baptised mothers dedicated her son the same day—a beautiful symbol of a spiritual journey beginning in one person and flowing into a family. The joy in the room was amazing—seen in smiles, heard in songs, and felt in every heart. It reminded everyone that evangelism is not a programme—it is the heartbeat of the church. It is love in action, truth shared, and Christ revealed.
A heartfelt appreciation goes to the South England Conference leadership and Evangelism Director, the St Austell Church leadership, and every member who prayed, gave, worked, and believed. But above all, all praise belongs to God—the One who calls, saves, restores, and sustains.
15th November 2025 will forever be remembered as a day when heaven rejoiced—because four precious souls chose Jesus. And that, truly, is the joy of heaven.
