Bournemouth SDA Church Holds First Service in Newly Purchased Sanctuary

Last Sabbath (1st February 2025), Bournemouth Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church held its first service in a newly purchased 160+ seat sanctuary, marking a significant milestone for the congregation. It was also their first Sabbath with their newly appointed minister, Steven Hulbert.

Hulbert succeeds Pastor Laszlo Liebhardt, who faithfully led the church for the past eight years. Pastor Liebhardt now serves as the South England Conference Director for Church Growth & Adventist Mission.

Among those present for this special occasion were Charles Richards (95) and his wife Daphne (93), the oldest couple in Bournemouth SDA Church—both featured in the picture. This event was particularly meaningful for Daphne, who first visited the church’s previous building 90 years ago at the age of three.

Also in attendance were the pastors’ wives, Edit and Jenna, as well as Pastor Robert Vine (second from the right), who pastored Bournemouth SDA Church in the 1990s.

This purchase marks the end of a decade-long search for a larger worship facility, making it a truly momentous occasion for the church.
