Holloway SDA Choir Shines at Nags Head Christmas Lights Switch-On

The festive spirit came alive in Holloway on Saturday, 16th November, as the much-anticipated Christmas lights switch-on illuminated Nags Head Holloway Road. The event brought together residents, local performers, and special guests in a heartwarming celebration of community and Christmas cheer.

Among the standout performances of the evening was the beautiful singing of the Holloway Seventh-day Adventist Church Choir, whose harmonies captured the hearts of all present. Other talented local acts also graced the stage, creating an atmosphere of unity and joy that resonated throughout the gathering.

The event was graced by the presence of the Mayor of Islington, Cllr Khurana, who delighted attendees by dancing along to the choir’s melodious singing. The Mayor’s cheerful participation symbolised the sense of togetherness that defines the season.

A former theatre professional and local resident shared her heartfelt experience, saying, “I’ve never heard such good singing, not for a long time! This has made my day. I’ve been through a lot this year, but listening to the singing has made it all worthwhile!”

The evening ended with Cllr Khurana switching on the Christmas lights, officially marking the start of the festive season on Holloway Road. As the lights twinkled to life, the crowd cheered, and a sense of hope and joy filled the air.

Holloway SDA Church has a proud history of supporting the Nags Head Christmas lights switch-on, and the event once again served as a powerful ministering tool to share the love and light of Jesus with the community.

The warmth and goodwill of the performances were a testament to the spirit of the season and the church’s commitment to outreach and service.

The choir has already been invited to participate again next year—a prospect the choir and community eagerly anticipate.
