Hope In Times Of Crisis
Last Saturday, 15th October, Portsmouth Church saw the culmination of its eighth days long evangelistic series, Hope For The Family Crisis.
Guest Speaker, Pastor Keith Boldeau, delivered ten dynamic topics on how families can navigate the many challenges faced in today's society.
In one of his sermons entitled Abused and Damaged, There's Hope For You!, Pastor Boldeau urged listeners to make Jesus number one in their lives by putting Christ in their crisis. He also poured out a book of wisdom on seven ways to escape sexual immorality in today's world and advised on how to improve effective communication in the family. It was indeed an insightful moment for everyone.
The congregation was also blessed by a specially invited guest, Pastor Remus Mateciuc, from the Portsmouth Romanian Church, who presented nightly engaging quizzes based on the previous night's sermon.
To top it all off, eight precious souls decided to give their lives to Jesus, including five Pathfinders, in a glorious baptism, which resident Pastor Elliott Williams conducted.
In a testimony by the husband of one of the newly baptised members, he thanked Pastor Williams for working with his family over some time to make this day possible. He said, "today is the happiest day of my life as my family is now complete."
In another testimony, a mother of one of the baptised Pathfinders said, "when my daughter said she was going to get baptised, I said, "are you sure you know what you're doing?" but the daughter replied, "yes mummy I want to get baptised." It was indeed an emotional moment for the audience as tears filled some person's eyes.
Families and friends who couldn't attend the baptism in person joined in online on YouTube and Zoom to witness this joyous occasion.
We want to extend our heartfelt appreciation to everyone that played a part in making this campaign a success. Without you, this moment would not have been possible.
Special thanks to Alina Mateciuc for blessing us throughout the campaign with her melodious singing. We were indeed blessed to have you.
Finally, a huge congratulations to all the baptised candidates. We are thrilled you've decided to follow Christ. Your journey has just begun but remember, whatever situation you may face, keep "Christ in your Crisis".
