Northolt SDA Church Hosts Free Health Checks for Local Community in Perivale
Northolt Seventh-day Adventist Church’s 2025 Community Health programme took place on Sabbath, 19th March 2025, at the Hope Community Church in Perivale. Many people from the community came for health checks, including returnees who had benefited from the programme in April 2024.
The rhythms of the Southall Drum Corps attracted attention and piqued the curiosity of passers-by, encouraging them to attend the health programme. During the 3-hour session, 20 people from the community had their blood pressure, glucose levels, and BMI checked, and received advice from health professionals.
The community was very appreciative of the service, especially as it was provided free of charge. Attendees listened intently to the health lecture delivered by Sis Gloria Simon, our diabetes specialist. They expressed that the information shared was invaluable in motivating them to make the necessary lifestyle changes to live more healthily.
As attendees left, they received goody bags containing almond milk, fruit, water, and literature. The feedback evaluations were positive, with all expressing that they were looking forward to the next programme.
