Reading Angaza SDA Church Celebrates Youth-Led Revival and Global Youth Week of Prayer
At Reading Angaza SDA Church, Saturday 22 March 2025 can be deemed a pinnacle Sabbath for a sequence of events that has revitalised church life in the first quarter of 2025.
The youthful spirit and vigour of our young people has inspired us all to find deeper meaning and purpose in service. The Drum Corps have been quite involved in serving around and outside of Area 5. They love what they do. On 16 March 2025, they were once again certified by the South England Conference to further their ministry for this year 2025. Praise be to God.
We are proud of our young people who are undertaking Teens Leadership Training (TLTs) for their valuable outreach activities and contribution to the immediate community around Hexham Community Centre. They have been collecting dry food and other supplies on behalf of charitable organisations for the food bank. We thank God for them.
Another recent church livelihood event that has added to our church fellowship dynamics is the farewell Sabbath to the Baraza family. Daniel Baraza became a regular Sabbath School attendant in October 2023, having come from Kenya. He was working at Royal Berkshire Hospital as a nurse. His wife Julieth and their two lovely daughters, Zawadi and Zuri, joined him about a year ago. Daniel has received another job in the North of England and has had to relocate. On 8 February 2025, the church had a very good time wishing them God’s blessings as they embark on a new journey and establish new friendships.
We praise God for our young people who have been actively engaged in running midweek prayer meetings, Sabbath opening, and Sabbath closing services for the entire month of March 2025. Sabbath 22 March 2025 was the crowning of the Global Youth Week of Prayer, which commenced on 15 March 2025. We had a Holy Communion service of its kind. Visitors came from far and wide—even as far as Wolverhampton. Testimonies shared were touching, and souls were uplifted.
Pr Baraka Butoke, the church pastor, continues to thank each and every one who has made Reading Angaza SDA Church a place where a community of believers loves to be. Welcome to Reading Angaza. Welcome to Hexham Community Centre!
