Tottenham Lighthouse Stages ADRA Charity Concert and Social

On Sabbath, 28th June 2025, the long-awaited ADRA Concert & Social was held at Tottenham Lighthouse Church, attracting many visitors. Our special guests were: Councillor Michelle Simmons-Safo, Deputy Mayor of Haringey; Sandra Golding, ADRA CEO; Petrian Menzies, Stakeholder Engagement Manager; and Paul Lee, Director of Adventist Radio London. Also present were Pastor Dr Jude Jeanville, many family members and friends, giving us a ‘full house’. Our special guests were presented with beautiful orchids by Angel Meguille Soyam, David Riley and Sandra Martelly. The concert was hosted by Dofton Atkinson and Donneth Just.

Tottenham Lighthouse Praise Team 3 got the concert off to a roaring start. This was followed by the official Opening Prayer and Welcome. A special time was set aside to welcome Our Heavenly Saviour, who had been with us throughout the day. His welcome was in the form of a song, ‘He is the Alpha & Omega’, done by Reenay Sese based in the Solomon Islands. The video for the song had its first public viewing at the concert, as it was completed on Thursday, 26th June and edited and sent to Tottenham Lighthouse the following day. It was a fitting song as the scenery was breathtaking, reminding us that God is the Creator. Renee Sese sang in the King’s Virtual Inauguration Choir, and plans are being made for her to come to the UK later this year to help us fundraise for ADRA, Tottenham Lighthouse Church building fund and community projects. As the saying goes, ‘It takes cash to care.’ The video was later released on YouTube and can be viewed at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFsBB1VrAM4

We want to thank all who participated, starting with our children L’Arayne Waldron (age 5), Kyra and Amara Osei-Pond (ages 6 & 10 respectively), who joined the team of seasoned performers to make the concert a resounding success. We cannot forget the support given by our members, but we need to give special a ‘Thank You’ to non-members who shared their talents freely – The Golden Chords, Mariska Edwards, Kevin McLaughlin, Joanne Donovan, Cleo Faye, Louanne Sampson, Bobby Carr, Athena Brown from Central London Church – she spent the whole day with us – and Reenay Sese. At the end of the concert, there was a long queue to purchase food. Thanks also to the ADRA Team, the deacons and deaconesses who worked assiduously in the background to ensure that all went well.

Thanks be to God, over £1,200 was raised at the concert, plus an anonymous donation of £1,000 which was sent directly to the Conference. It was a lot of hard work, but it was worth it. Let us continue to support the work of ADRA. Many will come to a knowledge of Christ by the Justice, Compassion and Love we show – ADRA’s motto. At Tottenham Lighthouse, we take seriously the command left by Our Saviour Jesus Christ – ‘Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.’
