Workshops on Tuesday - Camp Meeting 2019

This year the Workshop timetable extended into the afternoon, with a number of more time consuming or focused workshops on offer, such as ‘Easy Sew School’ and ‘Treasurers’ Training”. The morning workshop period started as usual with a buzz of conversation as Campers compared the various workshops on offer and chose which to attend.

Participants were slow to gather for the ‘Listening to Young People’ workshop entitled ‘Why Talk, When you can listen’, but soon a sizeable group gathered to consider the importance of listening to teenagers who face challenging years. Help was given on how to listen effectively to our teens, and soon attendees were discussing and offering suggestions to each other.

Other workshops were also practical with ‘Noah’s Ark School’ being offered as a way of reaching needs in the community. The most popular and also very practical workshop was the ‘VegChef Masterclass’ where Melanie Ernst and Christian Karlsson shared practical advice on changing to a plant-based diet. They demonstrated how to make dishes that are attractive, with texture and flavour. They spoke about the various benefits a plant-based diet has for fighting disease. Attendees were given the opportunity to sample the dishes at the end of the presentation. A very satisfying end to the Tuesday morning workshop session.
