Workshops, Wednesday - Camp Meeting 2019

As yesterday the most popular Workshop was the Veg chef Masterclass with the main hall more than half full, of Campers eager to learn about a plant-based diet. There were demonstrations, hands-on teaching and tasting the results. Other Workshops might have had smaller attendances but were filled with valuable information.

In ‘Principles and Practices of Disciple Makers’ Pastor Michael Mbui spoke with the authority that comes from practising what he shared. There needs to be a personal commitment to meditating and learning the words and ways of Jesus. The life of the disciple-maker must reflect Jesus. It was a surprise to discover that Pastor Hamilton’s ‘Storytelling’ workshop was not about telling the children’s story but rather that the best witness we can give is to tell our own story (1 John 1:1-4). He also referred to the example of Paul in Acts 26:1-11.

‘Emotionally healthy Conflict Resolution’ is a workshop all need to hear. From the first principle that it is not what you say but how you say it, or to put it another way, a soft answer turns away wrath (Proverbs 15:1), to the final gem shared, that sometimes there is no resolution, and all you can do is to deal with what you are responsible for (see Romans 15:7).
