Claim Your Inheritance: Prayer Walking Leaders Training 2026

The Claim Your Inheritance: Prayer Walking – Leaders Training 2026 programme, organised by the South England Conference Prayer Ministry, was successfully held from 7–10 May 2026 at the Holiday Inn Reading–South, Reading. Hosted by Prayer Ministries Coordinator Linda Asare, the event brought together prayer leaders, ministry workers, and church members for a spiritually uplifting and impactful leadership training experience focused on prayer walking, faith, and spiritual growth.

The programme featured inspiring presentations by Elder Jon Wood and Sister Natalie Wood of Jesus for Asia. Throughout the training, participants were equipped with practical and biblical principles to strengthen their prayer lives and leadership abilities. Key topics covered included How to Exercise Faith, The Creative Nature of the Word of God, How the Father Sees Us, Prodigal Son’s Elder Brother, and Weapons of Our Warfare. These sessions encouraged attendees to deepen their understanding of God’s Word, develop stronger faith, and become more effective in ministry and spiritual leadership.

As part of the practical faith-building emphasis of the programme, participants were also introduced to examples of biblical promises that can be claimed in prayer and daily Christian living. These included promises relating to God’s guidance (Proverbs 3:5–6), peace (John 14:27), strength (Isaiah 40:31), wisdom (James 1:5), provision (Philippians 4:19), forgiveness (1 John 1:9), protection (Psalm 91:1–2), healing (Jeremiah 30:17), courage (Joshua 1:9), spiritual victory (Romans 8:37), the presence of the Holy Spirit (Luke 11:13), and God’s everlasting love (Romans 8:38–39).

The teachings strongly emphasised the importance of maintaining faith under all circumstances and highlighted the close relationship between faith and prayer in the Christian life. Participants were reminded that faith is strengthened through consistent prayer, trust in God’s Word, and dependence on His guidance during both times of blessing and moments of difficulty. The presenters encouraged attendees to remain steadfast in prayer, believing that God hears and answers according to His will and timing.

The sessions further demonstrated that prayer and faith work hand in hand, enabling believers to overcome spiritual challenges, grow in confidence in God’s promises, and remain committed to ministry and Christian service. In emphasising complete dependence on Christ, reference was also made to the well-known counsel by Ellen G. White reminding believers not to depend on self, but to look to Jesus in faith. Participants were encouraged to understand that human weakness cannot provide salvation, and that true spiritual strength, cleansing, and righteousness are found only through Christ. This reflection reinforced the programme’s central message that prayer and faith must continually direct believers away from self-reliance and towards complete trust in Jesus Christ.

The programme also reflected on another powerful statement from Ellen G. White concerning the depth of divine love and humanity’s response to God’s sacrifice. Participants were reminded that heaven itself marvels at the limited appreciation often shown towards the immeasurable love of God revealed through Christ. The quotation highlighted the profound sacrifice made for humanity and encouraged attendees to develop deeper gratitude, stronger spiritual commitment, and a greater burden for the salvation of souls. This message further strengthened the programme’s emphasis on earnest prayer, faith, and wholehearted devotion to God’s mission and service. The teachings highlighted how believers can exercise faith by prayerfully trusting and applying God’s promises in their personal lives and ministry experiences.

In addition to the teaching sessions, the event included worship, united prayer, fellowship, and practical prayer walking activities. One particularly meaningful aspect of the programme was the emphasis placed on the prayer walk experience. Participants were divided into groups and sent to various communities and streets in the Reading area. During these outreach activities, attendees had the opportunity to pray for members of the local community, including people in shops, individuals facing difficulties, and members of the fire brigade. The prayer walks provided practical experience in intercessory ministry and encouraged participants to engage compassionately with the wider community through prayer and personal interaction.

Participants actively engaged in discussions and spiritual exercises that promoted unity, encouragement, and personal reflection. Following the prayer walk activities, everyone gathered together again to share testimonies, experiences, and the joy that resulted from ministering to others through prayer. These moments of reflection strengthened the sense of fellowship and inspired many participants through the encouraging stories and spiritual encounters shared during the sessions. The atmosphere throughout the programme was warm, prayerful, and spiritually enriching, leaving many attendees renewed in their commitment to intercessory ministry and Christian service.

Overall, the training programme was a blessing and a great success, achieving its objective of equipping leaders for effective prayer ministry and spiritual growth. Participants expressed appreciation for the depth of the teachings, the practical nature of the sessions, and the opportunity for fellowship and spiritual renewal. The South England Conference Prayer Ministry is commended for organising a meaningful and transformative event that strengthened both individual participants and the wider prayer ministry community.
