Two Churches, One Voice, One Mission Unites Ilford Churches for OneVoice27

Ilford Central Church and Ilford Lane Church Personal Ministries Department presented Two Churches, One Voice, One Mission, One Pastor in collaboration with OneVoice27 evangelism on 30 May 2026. It underscores the critical role in fulfilling our mission of discipleship and disciple-making whilst reflecting Christ’s example of God’s love and personal connection with Christ Jesus.

Objective

We are fundamentally unified as one church, united by divine design, our shared spiritual vision, and foundation in one God, one mission, one Pastor. This reminds us that moving beyond isolated efforts to foster unity and mutual support is essential. By coming together for OneVoice27, we experienced significantly greater success, guided by God’s blessings through creative and innovative outreach that encompasses a broad range of approaches and total member involvement. Other sister churches were invited to enhance the relevance and effectiveness of sharing God’s love, fostering stronger relationships through a holistic view of evangelism for OneVoice27.

Sermon

Personal Ministries Director Pastor Kwadwo Kwarteng-Ampofo, in his sermon, reminded the congregation that from 27 to 2027 will mark 2,000 years of Christ’s mission and called for renewed dedication and celebration through modelling the love of Christ in actions and lifestyles. Pastor Kwadwo called on every Christian to witness in normal life. Witnessing, he said, is not a gift for some, but part of following Christ through creative and innovative outreach approaches.

Pastor Kwarteng-Ampofo emphasised that, as Christians, we should use every means possible to reach out to people, which includes digital platforms, language and cultural strengths, and personal contacts. This demands the intentional cultivation of meaningful and supportive relationships that reflect God’s love, where people feel welcome. For OneVoice27, members should be prepared for offline continuity through printed study guides, house groups, as well as media-driven outreach; hence, proclamation without follow-up will create a lack of spiritual growth.

Children’s Story

Pastor Thomas Gill, the resident pastor for the Two Churches, One Pastor, One Vision for One Voice 2027, presented the children’s story based on two young men who used different social media platforms, including Facebook, WhatsApp, YouTube, and Instagram, to evangelise and saw new believers baptised. He emphasised that social media platforms are a starting point for young adults globally. They are incredibly effective for fostering deep relationships and proclaiming the Word of God for the One Voice 2027 mission.

Remarks

In his remarks, the First Elder of Ilford Central Church, Elder Martin Mugadza, appealed to members to use the forum to be fishers of men. He further stated that outreach should be disseminated through local cultures and languages, including French, Spanish, and Portuguese, in tune with the Holy Spirit, using food, music, car washes, and sidewalk evangelism to mobilise for One Voice 2027. Elder Martin Mugadza also appealed to the Personal Ministries Department to provide high-quality evangelistic resources that will equip members to witness effectively.

Conclusion

The two churches, one Pastor, one mission (Ilford Central Church and Ilford Lane Church), will continue to prioritise relationships in view of evangelism and encourage stronger connections within our communities for One Voice 2027.
