Websites for local churches

The Adventist Church in the United Kingdom refreshed its websites in 2024 at the Union and Conference level with a new look powered by the Adventist Cloud web engine. This platform provides a modern, user-friendly experience tailored to the needs of both Adventist and non-Adventist audiences.

Local churches within the South England Conference are also now invited to use this new website platform. By completing the form below, you can request a website setup for your church.

There are 2 options

Option A:

This option is an automated and pre-configured website (one-page) that is no longer editable in terms of content. The sample template is currently https://sec-myautomatedwebsite.adventist.uk and https://mustergemeinde-klein.adventisten.de.

Option B:

This option provides a simple, user-friendly website builder, with customisable building blocks, allowing you to design and tailor your website to your needs. Check out the following for examples : https://sec.adventist.uk; https://adventist.uk; https://buc.adventist.uk; https://adventist.scot; https://wm.adventist.uk; https://mustergemeinde-gross.adventisten.de.

This website type can only be edited by the church's webmaster. Due to time constraints, it cannot be edited by the Conference.

Costs

The annual costs of £17 will be met by the local church.

Order Form

SECTION 1

Personal contact details of the person placing the order:

Binding order of the website for a local church of the South England Conference

(Note: The local church will cover the annual web hosting cost of £17).

The name of the local church will then appear in the Internet address as follows: local-church.adventist.uk (e.g. acton.adventist.uk).

Additional users to work on website:

SECTION 2

Regular activities of the church:

In the fields “Activity X” you can enter, among other things: Bible study, church service, children's meeting, Pathfinders meeting, youth meeting, ... (further additions possible).

In the corresponding fields “Further information” you can enter: “every Saturday”, “every last Friday”, “every second Sunday”, “on weekdays by arrangement”, ... etc.

Information for the church website on the topic of “parking”:

In the “Things to know” section of the website, visitors to the church website can find some information based on questions and corresponding answers. There is also a section entitled “Where can I park?”. There are therefore two options: either to delete this section from the website or to formulate a suitable text for it.

Images for the website:

PRINCIPAL: The church website should not only be filled with factual texts, but should also radiate warmth, personality and liveliness through images of the church. It would therefore be desirable if, in addition to the picture of the church, which is linked to the church or church finder, three pictures of people engaged in church life and activities are also inserted on the website. It would not be appropriate to use any images of people (e.g. stock images). The use of “unauthorised” downloaded images is prohibited.

UPLOADING: The images of the local church should be uploaded the our dropbox folder https://www.dropbox.com/request/V6ketVRDbdwZyyYTcavF. Each file should be named clearly, including the church name, an identifier, and a sequential number, e.g., “ChurchName-Picture-01”.

Note: If you already have the images available at the time of ordering the website, it is best to upload them immediately and click on “Yes (immediate upload)” below. If you as a church still need to create images and this will take some time, then click on “Yes (but upload later)”.

CRITERIA FOR THE PICTURES:

  • high resolution of the pictures

  • Pictures in landscape format! (e.g. 16:9)

The object (e.g. church) or the group of people should be in the centre of the picture. Please make sure that there are no shadows on faces, no parked vehicles in front of the building, that “friendly” faces can be recognised and that there is as little “clutter” as possible in the picture.

Compliance with data protection regulations (e.g. written consent)

START PICTURE: If a local church does not have its own picture for the start picture, we will leave a default picture.

SECTION 3

All images that I have uploaded or will upload to the above-mentioned dropbox folder (https://www.dropbox.com/request/V6ketVRDbdwZyyYTcavF) with the file name e.g. “ChurchName-Picture-01” and therefore wish to have posted on the relevant church website comply with data protection regulations. As the church, we have obtained consent for the persons depicted in these images. (Please click on this button even if you have not uploaded or will not upload any images).

I agree to the privacy policy. All data entered in this order form will be stored by the Conference for the purpose of maintaining lists for the church websites. This also applies to the representation of the relevant data in the imprint of the respective church website (editorial management). Note: The pastors' surname, first name, work mobile number and work email address are entered in the legal notice, while only the webmasters' surname and first name are entered. An email address will be needed for the legal notice for the webmaster.

Note: If the message CANNOT be sent, it is probably because a mandatory field (*) has not been filled in. Please check everything and pay attention to red text.
