BUC Tribute to Faye Weekes

Obituary

To the Weekes family, Edison, Andrew, and Michael, the Fernandez family, and the Hampstead church – on behalf of the officers, directors, and staff at the British Union Conference (BUC) office, we offer our sincere condolences to you in this challenging moment for you.

At moments like these, we begin to understand that life is filled with uncertainty, love and loss, joy and heartache, the ecstasy of new life, and the savage finality at the loss of life. We share, to some extent, the pain of the passing of our beloved Faye Weekes.

Faye was a dedicated, faithful, committed and honourable member of our Church and the BUC office. She faithfully served the BUC for 18 years in the Health Ministries, Trust Services, Family Ministries, Women's Ministries, and the Ministerial Association departments.

How fortunate are we to have, in Faye, someone who makes saying goodbye so hard. We, at the BUC, will miss Faye tremendously, and we will not forget the tremendous contribution she made to our Church and the BUC office. She will be deeply missed and Faye is irreplaceable.

May these words of scripture journey with you at this difficult time.

"For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words." 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18.
