Chesham Witness its First Ever Baptism

Sabbath 12 January was a very special day for Chesham church plant in Buckinghamshire. It witnessed its first baptism since the plant began some five years ago. Angela Earle was baptised by Pastor O P Chackochen using the baptistry at the Hope Community church in High Wycombe witnessed by family and friends.

Chesham was established to pioneer Adventism in a very traditional and conservative part of Buckinghamshire under the leadership of Cameron Jack who sadly passed away in November 2018. It was gratifying that his sister, Angela Earle, was the first one to be baptised as a result. He had worked tirelessly and passionately with his family and the rest of the group to spread the Adventist message in Chesham. The going has been very laborious, but persistence always pays off.

Chesham church plant tries to implement innovative and imaginative ways of reaching out into the community. It has found that compassion and fellowship play a significant role in presenting Jesus to people. When Jesus is presented in a way that touches their lives through tenderness and love, people see beyond parochial denominationalism and hackneyed religion and connect with Jesus the Lord.

That has been the experience of Chesham church plant.
