Downham Community Fellowship Witnesses Joyous Triple Baptism

On the afternoon of Sunday, 15th September 2024, at 4:00 pm, Downham SDA Church witnessed the baptism of three precious souls. The baptism took place at Lewisham SDA Church.

There was an atmosphere of great joy as friends, family, and church members gathered to celebrate this wonderful occasion. They witnessed Pancetta Fowler, Aleesia Costa-Ekun (Pathfinder), and Divine Ebireri (Pathfinder) committing their lives to Jesus Christ.

Elder Naomi Griffiths enthusiastically welcomed everyone as the programme began. Pastor Steve M. Roberts, minister of Downham SDA Church, officiated and delivered a sermonette, encouraging the candidates to prepare for the second coming of Jesus Christ, the great hope of the church. He praised God for the candidates' decision to willingly accept the call in Mark 1:14, where Jesus announced the Good News in Galilee: "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent and believe in the gospel."

Pastor Christopher Williams assured the three candidates that if God can bring them to it, He can bring them through it.

Elder Frank Anti, the first elder of Downham SDA Church, conducted the examination of the baptismal candidates.

The Downham praise team vibrantly sang hymns, giving glory to God. The praises echoed throughout the entire congregation, who were moved by this spirit-filled occasion.

We thank God for His leading, guidance, and protection in the lives of these three individuals, whom we urge to continue to walk with Jesus Christ until the day they see Him face to face.
