International Women’s Day of Prayer: A Day of Faith, Fellowship, and Empowerment

On 7th March, our church Walthamstow SDA joyfully joined the global community in observing the International Women’s Day of Prayer, a sacred time set aside to lift women and girls around the world before the throne of God. It was a day filled with prayer, reflection, unity, and heartfelt intercession.

Together, we prayed for strength, justice, healing, protection, and hope for women everywhere. As a church family, we were reminded once again of the vital role women play in our families, churches, and communities. Their courage, faith, compassion, and leadership continue to enrich and strengthen every part of our spiritual life.

Walthamstow Women’s Social: Building Fellowship and Strengthening Bonds

Leading up to the Day of Prayer, our women gathered for a special Women’s Social Event—a joyful and uplifting time focused on community, connection, and spiritual encouragement.

This event provided a warm, welcoming space where women could:

  • Encourage and support one another

  • Build lasting friendships

  • Share stories, experiences, and wisdom

  • Grow together both spiritually and socially

Women supporting women creates a stronger, healthier church. Through fellowship, we learn that we are not alone in our journeys. Our stories—whether joyful or challenging—become testimonies that uplift and inspire others.

Activities that Enriched the Day

Those who attended enjoyed:

  • Meaningful group conversations

  • Engaging games and discussions

  • Beautiful moments of connection and fellowship over refreshments

The atmosphere was warm, joyful, and filled with sisterly love.

Standing Together in Prayer

On the International Women’s Day of Prayer, women gathered once more—this time in a circle of worship, unity, and intercession.

Together, we prayed:

  • In faith, trusting God’s promises

  • With compassion, remembering women facing hardships

  • In unity, standing side by side as sisters

  • Using the names and attributes of God, reflecting on His grace, favour, blessings, and protection

We prayed for women and girls in our church, in our community, and around the world—lifting up requests for peace, opportunity, safety, dignity, and spiritual renewal.

This sacred time reminded us to pause, reflect, and intercede for the needs of women everywhere. It also inspired us to continue encouraging, supporting, and standing alongside women as they live out their God‑given calling.

Our Commitment Moving Forward

The Women’s Ministry remains committed to:

  • Supporting and empowering women

  • Strengthening spiritual growth

  • Creating meaningful fellowship opportunities

  • Building a loving, connected community of women

  • Providing a safe and encouraging space for all

As a church, we celebrate the gifts, leadership, compassion, and resilience of the women among us. We honour their contributions, uplift their voices, and continue to pray for God’s guidance and blessings over their lives.
