London Ghana SDA Church Holds Powerful Conflict Resolution Seminar
Peacemakers: True Heirs to God's Blessings
The London Ghana Seventh-day Adventist Church experienced a powerful emphasis on all types of peacemaking on 1 February 2025, as Bright Agyeman Baah, their intern serving under the mentorship of Senior Pastor George Boakye Asiamah, concluded a week-long series of Conflict Resolution seminars. Co-led with Pastor Asiamah, the seminars, which began online on 26 January, drew an average of 120 devices nightly on Zoom. Pastor Asiamah skilfully guided the online sessions, offering practical, biblically grounded advice for navigating the inevitable conflicts within relationships.
Baah delivered the concluding message inside the main church auditorium on the first Sabbath of February, striking a deep chord. He powerfully connected peacemaking with authentic Christian identity, stating, “If you do not create peace—whether in your community, workplace, church, or family—you do not belong to the family of God.” His words served as a chilling call to self-reflection, urging attendees to honestly evaluate their relationships.
Baah did not shy away from the difficult truth that those who sow discord and strife align themselves with the destructive nature of the devil. He used the example of Beelzebub’s disruptive influence in Heaven, which ultimately led to the great fall, as a stark warning. True Christians, he admonished, are called to a higher standard: they are to be agents of peace, distinct from the world around them. He underscored the inherent contradiction of claiming to love God while harbouring hatred in one’s heart or actions.
Drawing from Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5, specifically the Beatitudes, Baah highlighted the essential role of peacemakers within the Christian faith. His voice resonated with conviction as he declared, “Read my lips…You are only blessed when you make peace!” This powerful statement underlined the divine favour bestowed upon those who actively pursue reconciliation and harmony.
