Taunton Church Celebrates Investiture of 50 Pathfinders and Adventurers

Taunton Church recently celebrated this year’s Adventurers and Pathfinders Investiture on 28 February, recognising the dedication and progress of the young members of the Royal Eagles Club. The ceremony marked an important milestone for the children as they advanced in their classes and continued to grow spiritually, mentally, and physically through the Adventurer and Pathfinder programmes.

This year, 17 Adventurers and 29 Pathfinders were invested into their next classes, acknowledging the effort they have put into completing requirements and developing new skills. Several non-Club members of the church also supported the programme by teaching honours, reflecting the South England Conference ethos of Total Member Involvement. In addition, four Adventurers transitioned into the Pathfinder Club, marking an exciting new stage in their journey.

The service was led by SEC Pathfinder Director, Pastor Stanley Teixeira, who delivered an encouraging message urging the young people to remain faithful, courageous, and committed in their walk with God. He reminded them that the values learned through the Adventurer and Pathfinder programmes, including service, leadership, and faith, provide a strong foundation for their future.

As the ceremony also marked a transition in club leadership, Joana Almeida, the outgoing Adventurers Director, reflected on her time serving the children: “The investiture ceremony was a very special day for our children, but also a very proud moment for the teachers and parents. The children were so happy and excited to receive their awards. It was amazing to see everybody’s achievements from an entire year of work and learning. We also welcomed some new members who joined the club and received their neckerchiefs, remembering the values they represent and the responsibility of being an Adventurer or Pathfinder. Much effort and love is invested in guiding these children in God’s way. The Royal Eagles Club has grown by the grace of God, and may it continue to shine Christ’s light.”

The investiture was a meaningful celebration for the entire church family, highlighting the commitment of the children, leaders, and parents who continue to make the Adventurer and Pathfinder ministries a vibrant part of the church community.
