Wycombe Community Ended The Year 2018 With A Double Blessing: A Wedding And A Baptism
Sunday 23 December was a special day for Anna and James where their wedding of the year ceremony took place at North Wembley Adventist church.
A congregation of family and friends shared their love with the couple and to witness the exchange of vows, officiated by Pastor Wilfred Blake. A sermonette was taken by Pastor Kirk Thomas giving a humorous message on 'What makes a marriage work'. The wedding was also conducted by Pastor Kwesi Moore and Pastor Mingo, interim ministers for North Wembley church. The highlight of the wedding ceremony was James' father Ecroy Moore, married to Sis Miriam Moore for 60 years, gave firm advice and words of wisdom to the newly married couple.
Anna wore a beautiful ivory dress with top embroidery lace and diamonds. She was accompanied by six bridesmaids in burgundy colours, two pageboys in grey suits, a flower girl in gold and ivory. The colours complemented the Christmas theme. Anna's mother and son gave her away at her marriage ceremony.
We wish Anna and James Moore God's blessing in their future life together.
On Sabbath 29 December, there was another blessing when a soul was saved at Wycombe Community Adventist church. Church members and district church members were rejoicing for Sandie Mitchell as she made a public declaration of faith to follow Jesus Christ and was baptised in front of a packed church. Members and friends witnessed and celebrated the last baptism of 2018.
Sandie chose her favourite scripture verse, Psalms 27:1-4 read by Gabriella Morgan. Pastor Wilfred Blake baptised and welcomed her into the membership of Wycombe Community Adventist church.
Sandie, born in Egypt and brought up by her parents, were Christians. She said, "I have always loved the Lord but had a very difficult life health wise." Sandie had lost her life three times and knew then she is special. She has five siblings who are not Christians. She stated that she is truly blessed and happy to have found her new church and family. "I feel like I've finally come home, and I praise the Lord," she said.
