Deputy Lieutenant Honour for Enoch Kanagaraj, One Vision Founder and Member of Stanborough Park SDA Church
His Majesty King Charles III has approved the appointment of Enoch Kanagaraj BEM DL as a Deputy Lieutenant for Hertfordshire appointed by The Lord-Lieutenant, Robert Voss CBE CStJ.
This royal honour recognises Enoch’s outstanding service to faith, charity, and community leadership across Hertfordshire and beyond.
A devoted Seventh-day Adventist and Founder & Chief Executive of the One Vision Charity, Enoch has become a symbol of unity and hope, working tirelessly to build bridges between diverse communities, faith leaders, and public services.
On Thursday 30th October 2025 appointment, published in the London Gazette, acknowledges his dedication to the biblical call in Matthew 5:16:
“Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
For Enoch, this honour is not a personal achievement but a divine calling to serve with humility.
“This honour is a reflection of God’s grace and the collective work of many people of faith who live out their calling to serve others,” Enoch said. “Everything I do is inspired by the words of Jesus in Matthew 25:40: ‘Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me. It is my prayer that through this new role, I can continue to be a light in my community.”
Through One Vision, headquartered at the British Union Conference premises in Watford, Enoch has mobilised hundreds of volunteers to address health inequalities, promote mental wellbeing, and strengthen interfaith harmony. His leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic united faith and community organisations in an unprecedented show of compassion and collaboration.
Pastor Eglan Brooks, President of the British Union Conference (BUC), extended his heartfelt congratulations, saying:
"Enoch’s appointment is a testament to the way God continues to use His people to influence and serve in public life, reflecting the values of faith, service, and integrity that the Church upholds. Pastor Brooks noted that Enoch’s journey exemplifies how Christians can be light-bearers in society, working in partnership with others for the common good."
Sharon Platt-McDonald, Director for Health, Adventist Community Services, and Women’s Ministries at the British Union Conference, praised the appointment:
“Enoch’s service exemplifies the heart of the Adventist message, faith expressed through love. His leadership shows that when we align our mission with God’s compassion, communities are healed, lives are restored, and faith is made visible.”
Dr Jude Jeanville, Senior Pastor of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, with head quarters in Watford added:
“Enoch is an exemplary visionary whose compassionate leadership and drive has brought many communities together in Hertfordshire. He is an inspiration to all demographics, young and old, and across all cultures. He has definitely heeded the call of Christ to "Let your light shine." Enoch is a living, breathing force for good. His appointment as Deputy Lieutenant is a testament to how God honours those who serve faithfully.”
As Deputy Lieutenant, Enoch will assist the Lord-Lieutenant in representing His Majesty The King at civic and community events, strengthening the bond between the Crown and the people. For him, this role is an extension of his ministry, serving humanity as an act of worship.
Enoch concluded with conviction:
“This is God’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes.” (Psalm 118:23)
“My faith teaches me that true leadership is servanthood. I dedicate this honour to the volunteers, faith leaders, and communities who walk with me every day in love and service. Together, we will continue to reflect God’s light in Hertfordshire and beyond.”
Enoch also expressed heartfelt thanks to his parents, siblings, and his beloved wife, Nishtha Kanagaraj, and their two children, Jasmine and Jadon, for their unwavering love and support. He extended his gratitude to the entire One Vision team, volunteers, church members at Stanborough Park Seventh-day Adventist Church, and the community leaders who have stood beside him on this remarkable journey of faith and service.
