One Vision Hertfordshire Receives National ‘Health Creation Champion of the Year’ Award

Manchester, 21 October 2025

One Vision Hertfordshire has received the Health Creation Champion of the Year Award at The Health Creation Alliance National Partnership Summit 2025 in Manchester.

The award recognises One Vision’s outstanding contribution to reducing health inequalities and empowering communities through collaboration, compassion, and community-led innovation. This honour celebrates not only our practical achievements, but also the spirit of service and unity that continues to drive our work.

The summit’s theme, “Health Creation: Wealth Creation – Investing in Community Agency,” brought together national leaders, community champions, and health professionals. When our team was invited to the stage to accept the award, it marked a moment of gratitude and reflection — a recognition that when people of faith and goodwill work together, transformation follows.

The Work of Faith in Action

One Vision Hertfordshire was recognised for its Faith and Health Networking Board, Cancer Champions Programme with Macmillan Cancer Support, and Community Connector Training. These initiatives empower volunteers and faith leaders to become trusted advocates for health and wellbeing, bridging the gap between communities and statutory services.

Our mission is grounded in the belief that service is an act of faith. The work of One Vision has shown that real care begins not with systems, but with relationships,  built on trust, empathy, and respect. Through our partnerships with the NHS, local authorities, and faith organisations, we have demonstrated that health creation starts when communities are given the confidence, power, and connections to take control of their own wellbeing.

This national recognition also follows my keynote speech at The King’s Fund “Care Closer to Home” Conference, where I shared how One Vision’s community-centred prevention model is reshaping the way health systems think about care — showing that care closer to home is not about geography, but about relationships and responsibility.

Leaders Celebrate the Achievement

Matt Turmaine MP for Watford said:

“This national recognition for One Vision is richly deserved. Enoch and his team have shown what genuine community-led leadership looks like, uniting health services, faith leaders, and local people to tackle inequality and build healthier, stronger communities. Watford is proud of this incredible achievement.”

Peter Taylor, Elected Mayor of Watford, added:

“I am so proud of what One Vision Hertfordshire has achieved for Watford and beyond. Their partnership model is exactly what we need in today’s society, connecting people, building trust, and showing that local action can have national impact. This award highlights the power of collaboration and compassion in improving lives.”

Sharon Platt-McDonald, Director for Health, Women’s, and Adventist Community Services at the British Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, said:

“One Vision demonstrates how faith expressed through service can transform community wellbeing. This award highlights the work of faith in action,  where compassion meets commitment and hope becomes healing for individuals and communities.”

Reflection

Receiving this award is both humbling and inspiring. It recognises the dedication of our volunteers, faith leaders, NHS and council partners — all united by a shared belief that true change begins when we serve others with love and integrity.

As I reflect on this milestone, I am reminded that the work of faith is practical, inclusive, and transformative. It calls us to build bridges, not walls. To listen, not lecture. To serve, not seek status.

Through One Vision, we continue to show that when faith is lived out through compassionate action, it brings healing, not only to individuals but to entire communities.

To God be the glory for what He has begun through the work of faith in Hertfordshire.
