20th Anniversary of the First Romanian Seventh-day Adventist Church in London
On 5 July 2025, the Romanian Adventist community joyfully celebrated the 20th anniversary of the official establishment of the London Romanian Seventh-day Adventist Church. Officially recognised in April 2005 with just 47 members, the church has since experienced remarkable growth and has become the mother church for four other Romanian churches in London: East London (2011), Watford (2014), Sudbury (2020), and Burnt Oak (2025).
Today, these five London-based Romanian churches serve a combined membership of around 500. Representatives from all eight Romanian churches within the South England Conference (SEC) attended the anniversary event, including those from Portsmouth, Wokingham, and Bedford.
All pastors who have served the Romanian district over the years were present, including Pastors Nicu Butoi, Sorin Petrof, Alex Mareniuc, Bogdan Dumitru, and Gabriel Ciocârlan. The event was also honoured by the presence of Pastor Nathan Stickland, representing the SEC, and Pastor Andrei Bălan from the LMC. In addition, two representatives from the Romanian Embassy in the UK—Deputy Ambassador Mariam El-Hek and diplomat Georgiana Giunca—joined the celebration.
A major highlight of the day was the announcement of plans to establish a Romanian Adventist Centre of Influence in London within the next five years. This initiative will be supported collaboratively by all eight Romanian churches. Those interested in contributing to the project are encouraged to get involved. More information is available via the QR code provided at the event.

The anniversary celebration was marked by uplifting worship, shared memories, and heartfelt gratitude to God for His faithful leading over the years. The community looks forward to continuing this tradition with future annual gatherings to unite Romanian Adventists across the UK.
We give thanks to God for His blessings and leadership thus far.
