Enoch Kanagaraj BEM Represents Faith Communities at NHS 10-Year Plan Launch

PRESS RELEASE

Enoch Kanagaraj BEM invited to NHS 10-Year Health Plan Launch with Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer, and Health Secretary Wes Streeting, Chancellor of the Exchequer The Rt Hon Rachel Reeves MP

London, 3 July 2025

Enoch Kanagaraj BEM, a committed Seventh-day Adventist and Founder and Chief Executive of One Vision Charity, was honoured to represent faith-based and community organisations at the official launch of the NHS 10-Year Health Plan, hosted by UK Prime Minister Rt Hon Sir Keir Starmer and Secretary of State for Health and Social Care Rt Hon Wes Streeting.

The launch marks a bold and strategic commitment by the UK Government to reshape healthcare over the next decade. Priorities include prevention and early intervention, tackling health inequalities, digital transformation, NHS workforce reforms, and integration between health, social care and community services.

Enoch Kanagaraj brought forward the voice of the grassroots at this national platform, reinforcing the vital role of faith communities and local organisations in building a more inclusive and compassionate healthcare system. Speaking after the event, he said:

Representing the Adventist principle of whole-person care, Enoch Kanagaraj highlighted the essential role faith communities play in delivering health support rooted in trust, cultural understanding, and compassionate service. Reflecting on the day, he said:

“As an Adventist, I believe in a whole-person approach to healing, body, mind and spirit. At One Vision, we’ve seen firsthand how compassion, prayer, and practical care can bring restoration and hope. The Church is often the first to respond and the last to leave. We must stand in the gap for the vulnerable, just as Christ calls us to.”

Matt Turmaine, Member of Parliament for Watford, expressed his support stating:

“One Vision is a shining example of what compassionate, community-rooted leadership looks like. I am proud to see Enoch representing Watford on the national stage and championing inclusion at the heart of health reform.”

Harjit Singh DL, Chair of the Board of Trustees at One Vision, said:

“This is a proud moment. Enoch’s invitation to such a significant event confirms the value of what One Vision has built, a movement led by faith, powered by compassion, and focused on justice.”

Sharon Platt-McDonald, Trustee and Director at the British Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, added:

“As a faith-based organisation, we understand that health interventions should not just be clinically focused, but incorporate the spiritual and psychological aspects of wellbeing. One Vision exemplifies this reality, in every activity they undertake. Today’s event marks a national recognition of this wholistic model.”

The presence of One Vision at this high-level policy launch reflects its growing influence as a partner to the NHS, local government and civil society. With proven success in delivering community health programmes on cancer, diabetes, mental wellbeing and unpaid carers, the charity is committed to working alongside the Government in turning the 10-Year Plan into a reality for all.
