NHS Appreciates Lea Valley Adventist youth for visit during Global Youth Day celebrations
Lea Valley Seventh-day Adventist church youth celebrated this year's Global Youth Day (Sabbath 16 March), by visiting the North Middlesex University Hospital. The hospital subsequently published the following story on their website.
In a touching display of solidarity and generosity, the youth members of Lea Valley Seventh-day Adventist church graced the atrium of North Middlesex University Hospital Trust. Their visit was not just about spreading cheer and goodwill, but also about extending a helping hand to those in need.
In celebration of Global Youth Day, the vibrant and enthusiastic youth from Lea Valley Adventist church based in Tottenham Bruce Grove arrived at the hospital with smiles that could light up the room. Their mission was twofold: to perform for the patients, staff, and visitors at North Mid, and to present a generous donation to the Rainbow Ward, a gesture that resonated deeply with the spirit of the day.
The performance, a medley of uplifting songs, brought joy and positivity to all those present. From classic hymns to contemporary tunes, the talented youth showcased their diverse talents, captivating the audience with their passion and enthusiasm.
"It's wonderful to see young people coming together to spread positivity and make a difference in the community," remarked Tim Cocklin, Paediatric Service Manager from North Mid. "Their performance was truly uplifting, and it's heartening to know that they're also supporting our Rainbow Ward with their generous donation."
The Rainbow Ward, which provides care and support to children and young people with various health needs, received a generous donation of toys, games and activity items presented by the Lea Valley Adventist church youth.
"We believe in the importance of giving back to our community and supporting those in need," said Patricia Badu, one of the youth leaders at Lea Valley Adventist church. "Global Youth Day is not just about celebration; it's about making a meaningful impact and spreading hope and positivity wherever we go. The youth choir enjoyed singing songs such as 'Amazing Grace' written by Poet John Newton with staff members to remind them of the amazing grace, we have all been afforded as healthcare providers and users."
The visit from the Lea Valley Adventist church youth left a lasting impression on everyone at North Mid, reinforcing the power of community, compassion, and collective action. As the world celebrates Global Youth Day, their inspiring gesture serves as a reminder that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a world of difference.
