Remembering Our Citizenship: SEC Personal Ministries Director Encourages Pathfinder Leaders

‘Remembering Our Citizenship’: SEC Personal Ministries Director Encourages Pathfinder Leaders

Philippians 3:20 “For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.”

On Sabbath 18th October 2025, Pastor Kwadwo Kwarteng-Ampofo, SEC Personal Ministries Director, delivered his sermon titled ‘Remembering our Citizenship’ at the PAC Annual Planning Meeting, led by Pastor Stanley Teixeira, SEC Adventurer & Pathfinder Director. The meeting was attended by the Pathfinders and Adventurers Area Coordinators from across the SEC, sharing growths and challenges within their areas as well as taking part in communion together.

Pastor Kwadwo shared that as Christians, we are either living or dead; living righteous or dead righteous, or, living sinner or dead sinners. We were then reassured that though this is the case, Christ paved a way for us, and for us to enjoy what He has for us, we must remember our citizenship. This citizenship Pastor spoke of is not one of this world, but one which is above worldly standards.

Pastor Kwarteng then shared that when Paul wrote to the church in Philippi, he explained to the church what makes us different and gives us assurance our home is in heaven. Therefore, we should live and act as though we are in heaven. We are to then understand the culture and language defining our heavenly citizenship leaving us answerable to heaven’s Lord. We must thus have an understanding that citizenship is important.

He urged the Area Coordinators that they should understand and living within their heavenly citizenship. This should then guide them with how they lead the Pathfinders and Adventurers within the conference.

Lastly, we were reminded that with the struggles we go through in this world, be assured that this too shall pass. One day, we shall die, but we are to have the assurance that we will be called home.
